"Let the beauty of what you love be what you do" Rumi
Welcome to my website...
If you have already checked out the pages of offerings, you'll see I have a very eclectic background...that's due to Gemini being in my 2nd house, yes I'm into astrology too. Below is a little bit of info on all those areas I have learned, been gifted with and grown to love.
On Yoga, Thai, RH: I hold a BA in Education and I'm an experienced NJ K-8 certified teacher. I received a Yoga Teacher certification through Integrative Yoga Therapy (IYT) in 2003 and a Children's Yoga Teacher certification based in the Anusara style through OM Shree OM in 2005. I received a Thai Yoga Bodywork basic certification in 2003 through Thai Yoga Healing Arts, continued my studies and completed to the advanced certification level in 2008. I first learned about Reconnective Healing from watching The Living Matrix and then read Dr. Pearl's book. I attended Dr. Pearl's training in Nov. 2009 where I received a Reconnective Healing practitioner certification.
In teaching yoga, it is my goal to impart to my students a sense of enthusiasm, curiosity, and acceptance towards their practice. I try to share the elements of yoga which have most held my attention and which have helped me to feel optimistic about myself, others, and the world at large. My own practice has evolved into a complete commitment to living with the principles of yoga.
On Dance: My love of dance began when I was 5 and continues to this day. I was trained in ballet, modern, jazz & tap. The belly dance training began in 1977. I took a break for a few years then started up again in 1984 and was asked to join a dance troupe year later. I danced professionally for a few years and began teaching belly dancing in 1987. While I don't dance professionally any more, I do continue to do workshops and classes.
On Feng Shui: My interest in Feng Shui began at an early age, long before I had ever heard of it. As a child I was constantly re-arranging the furniture, my shelves, my clothes and tossing out what was no long important to me. When I'd finally get it so it felt just right, I'd stop. Until something new was added then I'd start all over again. It wasn't until 2005 when I began to seriously study Feng Shui that my "moving my stuff" habit made sense. This then spilled over into my life long love of gardening in 2008. While I'm not an expert horticulturist, but an amateur gardener, applying the techniques of Feng Shui are fundamental to bringing this art/science into your whole environment.
On Medium-Ship: As a child I saw, felt and talked to ghosts and spirits of all kinds, especially nature spirits. I just assumed everyone else did too. It wasn't until I was a young adult that when I said something out loud about this, most people looked at me as though I was crazy. So I kept my silence but continued to quietly and slowly learn more about this special gift. Now, I've finally "come out of the closet" so to speak and openly practice and continue to sharpen my abilities through a supportive network of like-minded people.
I have combined my love of yoga and several healing modalities...our inner-self...with my love of creating a balanced supportive environment...our outer-self that feeds the inner-self...into what I call "In Balanced Harmony".
Each of us needs to find that place of presence and stillness everyday to bring about balance and harmony into our lives. It is our connection to one another and to the Universe. As John Friend says...step into the flow of Grace. It is my goal to bring this practice of presence to our inner and outer environments, be nourished by positive chi, and to find our own inner stillness. I also try to pass on to others what my many, many wonderful teachers have taught me with love, gratitude and as much creativity, positive encouragement, laughter and joy as I can.
I offer my humble gratitude to those many amazing teachers who have guided my practices and my education over the years. Most notably: Jonas Westring, John Friend, Chara Calderone, John Levis, Eric Pearl, Rosalie Prinzivalli, Barbara Tanner, and Pamela Meredith.
